Avoid Missing Out! Japan Gets Two More Retro Colour Schemes for the Iconic Yamaha XSR900 GP Exclusively
With the introduction of the 2024 Yamaha XSR900 GP, possibly the most aesthetically stunning motorbike to leave Yamaha’s stables in the last fifteen years, the company has certainly excelled itself this year. We were shocked by Yamaha once more, just when we thought they had revealed everything! Japanese fans are in for a real treat as they can now customise their Yamaha XSR900 GPs with two more liveries that have a vintage vibe to them.
Regretfully, only the Japanese market currently has access to these colorful new alternatives of Yamaha XSR900 GP, which makes us quite envious. These upgrades honor Yamaha’s illustrious racing history by reflecting famous designs from that storied period. Legends like the TZ250 and YZR500 may have had an effect on the motorcycle’s aggressive front fairing, aerodynamic screen, and sleek tail. This is something brand enthusiasts may be able to identify.
The traditional red and white Marlboro-themed color scheme is well-known in the UK and Europe and pays homage to Yamaha’s racing history, which is honored in both motorcycle and auto racing venues. The RD500 and other FZ series models, such as the FZ400, FZ600, and FZ-R1000, as well as other well-known Yamaha road motorcycles recognized for their racing prowess in the 1980s, serve as the inspiration for the two new hues available only in Japan.
These new, nostalgic color schemes could only be the start of what Yamaha has in store for us. Yamaha may even bring back the YZR500’s Lucky Strike sponsorship era with more eye-catching designs like the Yamaha speed block, Kenny Roberts’ style, or the Gauloises blue, as previously seen on the naked Yamaha XSR900 GP.
We’re crossing our fingers and looking forward to the day when these fascinating new features are available outside of Japan. Maybe soon, those of us in Europe will get the opportunity to own a portion of this amazing vintage rebirth!
