Student Magic: Crafting a Contemporary V12 Marvel from Pagani Zonda, Resurrected!
With a magical touch of design brilliance and a dash of wizardry, a group of ingenious students has breathed life once more into the indomitable modern hypercar: behold, as the V12 legend is summoned back to existence, the Alisea, a reimagination of the iconic Pagani Zonda.
This isn’t merely a revival of the Pagani Zonda. Behold, dear friends, the breathtaking reinvention of Horacio Pagani’s inaugural masterpiece by the students of the ‘master course in transportation design’ at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Turin. Enter the realm of Alisea: a real-life 1:1 exploration into the ‘modern’ Zonda.
The burning question arises: ‘Why?’ The answer, dear readers, is elegantly simple: as the Zonda celebrates its 25th year, 24 brilliant young minds devoted a year to meticulously rekindling and reimagining Horacio’s groundbreaking creation from the cusp of the millennium.
“We search endlessly, iterate relentlessly, present numerous proposals, discern what resonates best, swiftly discard what falters,”
they shared.
“Every aspect is crafted for sheer delight, even visually, for those who behold the marvel.”
And what a marvel it is. Collaborating closely with Pagani, the students transitioned from freehand sketches to 3D renderings, culminating in the creation of a full-scale, real-world Alisea.
“Its form eschews ornamentation or disruption,”
remarked IED.
“Alisea stands as a singular, sleek, and clear form, devoid of hollow spaces anywhere on its body—a rarity in this automotive class.”
Impactful words indeed.
The silhouette boasts a glorious, unbroken flow that magnifies the Zonda’s forward-leaning design, while nestled beneath rests an actual, roaring AMG V12 engine. Complete with full-LED lighting, dynamic aerodynamics, and the iconic Pagani quad-exhaust, this masterpiece shines.
“It’s akin to a Le Mans racer for the streets,”
enthused the students.
Step inside, and the magic continues—we’ve glimpsed the renders, showcasing analogue gauges, a manual gear lever, a digital dashboard, and swathes of luxurious leather.
“We had the privilege to guide budding talents, drawing from the rich knowledge and practices we, as designers and automotive engineers, bring to the industry,”
expressed Alberto Piccolo, Pagani’s advanced design lead.
“Simultaneously, we’ve embraced their fresh, uninhibited perspectives.”
“In nurturing the professional growth of young designers, we look towards the horizon with a broad, open outlook,”
added Paola Zini, Director of IED Torino.
Could this herald a new wave of exclusive Alisea editions, ensuring the Zonda’s legacy for another 25 years? We dare not object. Behold, the Alisea—a fusion of innovation, artistry, and the boundless spirit of design.
